Is That You, Next-Gen Dodge Charger EV?
Dodge offers up a tease of its next production model this holiday season.
Well look what the Santa dragged in. Dodge released a short holiday-themed video on YouTube earlier this week and tucked amongst the illustrated sugar plums is what very much seems to be the next-generation Charger EV.
The blink-and-you'll-miss it moment shows an illustrated coupe that very much looks like the Charger Daytona electric concept that's been making the autoshow rounds for the last few years. We see the long wheelbase, the sculpted hood, the upright front-end. There's just one major difference: this one has round headlights.
It isn't entirely clear if those are semi-hidden headlights—or even high beams—tucked within a recessed section similar to the concept car, or a whole different treatment. In this quick glimpse, there's just a hint of the '80s Shelby Charger in the face.
The other important factoid is in the fine print. "Available late 2024" gives us an idea of when we'll see this future model, potential round headlights and all. With rumors swirling about a potential gas-powered model coming alongside the EV, the next-gen Charger is one of our most anticipated models of next year.
