Lincoln Corsair Crossover Spied in Hybrid Guise
The Lincoln Corsair crossover has been spied testing in hybrid guise ahead of its 2020 arrival.
Development of the Corsair, which will replace the compact MKC in Lincoln’s lineup, has been accelerated following Ford’s decision to kill off most of its sedans to focus on SUVs, crossovers and trucks. The vehicle was originally going to arrive for 2021, but is now rumored to land sometime in 2020.
The prototype pictured here is heavily camouflaged, but it’s still possible to see the Lincoln Aviator-inspired design through the funky-looking vinyl wrap. To our eye, the Corsair looks a bit wider and more upright than the slightly bulbous MKC, giving it a tougher overall look.

It’s too early to say what engine options could be in store for the Corsair, but we’re expecting Ford’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo to serve as the mass market engine. A plug-in hybrid model will also be on the cards, but it’s not yet clear if it will be available from launch.
