BMW X2 Hits the Snowy Trails for Winter Testing

Things are getting busy in Northern Sweden with automakers conducting cold weather testing.
Spy photographers have caught the new BMW X2 taking on the snowy trails as it gets ready for its debut. Earlier this year at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the German automaker revealed the BMW X2 Concept, previewing the upcoming compact crossover that is essentially a BMW X1 with a sportier body. Sporting a lower roof that gives it a wider stance, the BMW X2 doesn’t have as much of a coupe style like the X4 and X6.

It will share its platform with the existing X1, meaning that it will be available with front-wheel drive standard with all-wheel drive optional. There’s a possibility BMW could add a high-performance X2 M to the lineup in the future, while standard powertrains when it debuts should mirror the X1. A plug-in hybrid version is likely.
