The Infiniti Q60 won’t offer a convertible variant.

As the new Q60 starts arriving in dealerships, the Japanese automaker has confirmed that it is only focusing on the coupe version and that the convertible is now off the table. “Convertible volume is pretty small, and we wanted to focus on making a big improvement to the car,” said Infiniti senior manager of product strategy, Gerardo Carmona.

Carmona went on to explain how Infiniti felt the transition from the first-generation G coupe to the second-generation model wasn’t dramatic enough and they wanted to make sure the new Q60 was “drastically different.” As a result, the company invested its efforts into improving just the coupe rather than having multiple variants of the car.

It’s unclear if the decision by Infiniti will affect the Nissan 370Z when it gets replaced.

The 2017 Infiniti Q60 starts from $39,855 including destination in the U.S.

The very first clause of the very first sentence in the article, and you can't even get that coherent? Meanwhile AutoGuide continues to throw the same popup ad at me every single time I try to read an article here. No wonder I hardly ever do anymore.
