10 Cars the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Will Beat in a Drag Race
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has been unveiled and it will go 0–60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
Sporting a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 just like the Dodge Hellcat models, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk boasts 707 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque, allowing the SUV to sprint down the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds at 116 mph. That also makes it the world’s most powerful production SUV, dethroning the Bentley Bentayga that previously held the record with 600 hp.
SEE ALSO: 707-HP Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Dethrones Bentley BentaygaSince not all automakers publish official zero-to-60 times, we hand picked 10 surprising cars that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will beat in a sprint to 60 mph, based on manufacturer’s listed times.
Chevrolet Camaro SS – 4.0 seconds
Powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque, not even the almighty Chevrolet Camaro SS will beat the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk to 60 mph. And to think this is actually the slowest of the 10 cars on this list!
Toyota GR Supra – 3.9 seconds
Toyota’s reborn Supra might be stronger and quicker than ever before, with a 382-horsepower inline-six sending power to the rear wheels. But that’s still 325 horsepower down on the Trackhawk, and the result is a 3.9-second dash to 60 mph; quick, but not quick enough.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo – 3.9 seconds
If you want to compare apples to apples, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is going to be a solid 0.4 seconds faster than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo in the run to 60 mph. The German automaker might pride itself in performance, but it’ll need a lot more than 541 hp and 567 lb-ft of torque out of the 4.8-liter turbocharged V8 to keep up.
Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 – 3.9 seconds (0-62 mph)
The Trackhawk is the most expensive Grand Cherokee, but it’s still a lot cheaper than a Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2. Even more surprising is that the SUV will make quick work of the exotic in a straight line. Not even a venerable 5.2-liter V10 with 543 hp and 397 lb-ft of torque can keep up.
Lotus Exige S Roadster – 3.8 seconds
It doesn’t even matter if you’re a lightweight two-seater convertible, the Lotus Exige S Roadster with its 3.5-liter supercharged V6 with 345 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque is going to get beat by the big and heavy Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
BMW M4 Competition Coupe – 3.8 seconds
BMW’s latest M4 coupe is a speedy one, charging to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds in 503-horsepower Competition form. You’ll have to check the box for the xDrive AWD system if you want any hope of outsprinting a Trackhawk, though.
Audi R8 V10 RWD – 3.6 seconds
Forget the Audi R8 V8, not even the V10-equipped exotic will accelerate faster than the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Despite the 5.2-liter V10 engine churning 562 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, the R8 V10 RWD will lag behind a SUV.
Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing – 3.6 seconds
There’s a lot to love about the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sedan—like the standard manual transmission—but getting beat by the Jeep Trackhawk going to 60 mph from a standstill isn’t one of those things. Despite packing a comparable 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine with 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque, the luxury sedan is still a tick slower to 60 mph than the SUV. You’ll need the 10-speed auto to beat the Trackhawk.
Porsche 911 Targa 4S – 3.6 seconds
There are approximately 18,036 variations of Porsche’s iconic 911. And yes, many of them are indeed quicker than the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. The Targa 4S is not one of those cars, however. Even with Porsche’s fast-acting PDK transmission and 443 hp, the 4S is still a tenth off at 3.6 seconds to 60 mph. It’s infinitely quicker at lowering its stylish roof, though.
Aston Martin Vantage – 3.6 seconds
If some of the Italian and German sports cars can’t keep up, how about the British? Hopefully James Bond doesn’t have to chase a villain in a Jeep Trackhawk in an upcoming movie, because even the Aston Martin Vantage does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds with a Mercedes-sourced V8 under the hood churning out 503 hp and 505 lb-ft of torque.

I have clocked a 3.1 with Draggy tool. Full weight with 93 octane on 40 degree day making 15 lbs of boost. Bone stock os 10.5 lbs boost.
My TrackHawk has taken many by surprise from a dig. Roll racing is a whole different ballgame. But the AWD and good traction will snap your head back very well. I love taking people for a launch and then watch the dash cam back and see their phone smash them in the face when I go.
