Lexus RZ – Review, Specs, Pricing, Features, Videos and More

Find everything you need to know about the Lexus RZ here, along with expert reviews, specs, photos, videos and more.
The RZ is Lexus’ first foray into the world of electric vehicles. Sharing a platform with the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra, the RZ sets itself apart by offering more power than either of those two offerings. With a larger front motor, the all-wheel drive Lexus generates a total of 313 hp. Maximum range is just 220 miles on a single charge which is lower than most of its rivals.
But the Lexus RZ counters by offering more ground clearance and off-road capabilities than most other all-electric luxury SUVs.

Lexus RZ Overview
The Lexus RZ expands its lineup with an entry-level trim for both the RZ 300e and RZ 450e AWD models. This move significantly reduces the starting price to $43,975, making the RZ a more competitive option in the luxury electric vehicle segment. The price drop follows previous reductions, making the RZ a more attractive choice than when it first debuted.
The RZ 300e features a 201-horsepower electric motor and a 72.8 kWh battery, delivering an EPA-estimated range of up to 266 miles with 18-inch wheels. The all-wheel-drive RZ 450e uses the DIRECT4 system with dual motors producing a combined 308 horsepower. It offers up to 220 miles of range with 18-inch wheels. Both models prioritize ride comfort with a low center of gravity and refined suspension tuning.
The RZ lineup adds a lower-cost base model for both the 300e and 450e AWD. Lexus continues to offer the Lexus Reserve complimentary rental service for added flexibility. The RZ retains its minimalist yet upscale interior, standard 14-inch touchscreen, and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. With a lower price and additional trim options, the 2025 RZ is now a more accessible option for buyers considering a luxury EV.
2023 Lexus RZ 450e Review: Coulda Been a Contender
Two hundred and seven. Or a little shy of one hundred and twenty-nine.
Those are the estimated ranges, in kilometers and miles respectively, that the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e is showing when I pick it up. It’s a windy December evening and the mercury is hovering right around the freezing point. I know that the estimate isn’t just reflective of the temperature but how the car was recently driven—something I don’t know—yet that’s of little comfort.
When I first drove the RZ back in February, the impression was that while it couldn’t compete on numbers, it retained the core Lexus experience that makes buyers so loyal to the brand. After spending a week with it however, I’m just not convinced the RZ measures up.

2023 Lexus RZ 450e First Drive Review
The numbers do not favor the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e, the luxury brand’s first dedicated electric vehicle.
Lexus‘ latest arrives on the scene with less power and less range than its established competition. To complicate matters, it’s also showing up to the party fashionably late.
Do numbers really matter, though? We’re talking a luxury SUV here, the sort of vehicle people buy for reasons of the heart at least as much as the head. To find out, we headed to Provence in southern France to learn more about the RZ, its yoke steering system, and how this electron-muncher fits into the broader Lexus family.
