A Quick and Concise Look At The Toyota Camry Nightshade Edition
Take a quick walkaround of the 2025 Toyota Camry Nightshade in Supersonic Red at Toyota's American headquarters.
This special-edition sedan builds on the Camry’s reputation for practicality with a sharper, darker look, thanks to its blacked-out accents and sport-leaning design touches. Paired with the model’s strong fuel efficiency, the Nightshade package gives everyday drivers a little extra attitude without sacrificing the qualities that make the Camry such a dependable choice.

Hi, I'm Jana, and this is a real-mom first look at the new Toyota Camry Nightshade Edition. This one is finished in Supersonic Red. In this quick walkaround, I’ll show you the interior, exterior, design details, and then talk about the powertrain and MPG.
The new Nightshade Edition adds Midnight Black Metallic exterior accents. Up front, you can see the blacked-out grille. Toyota calls this style the hammerhead grille on most of their SUVs and crossovers, and I know it can be polarizing. The wheels are sporty, and you also get black accents on the side mirrors and door handles. There’s a sunroof, a shark-fin antenna, and a black accent spoiler.
This model uses Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system and gets an estimated 51 MPG. You can choose front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. People who love the Camry really love it. The Nightshade package includes the Midnight Black Metallic grille, air curtains, side canards, door handles, mirror caps, shark-fin antenna, lower rear sport diffuser, and spoiler, along with 19-inch wheels and gloss-black badging. You can get it in Ice Cap, Supersonic Red (shown here), or Midnight Black Metallic.
The Camry lineup includes five grades: LE, SE, XLE, XSE, and Nightshade. All five can be had with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Because it's a hybrid, fuel efficiency is excellent—estimated at 51 MPG on the LE FWD model. New for 2026 is a color called Dark Cosmos, a hazy blue that I’ll try to show in a later video.
This Camry uses electronic on-demand all-wheel drive, available on all grades. It uses an electric motor generator on the rear axle, giving the AWD version 232 combined horsepower—30 more than the previous mechanical AWD setup. There’s a dual exhaust and more black trim across the rear.
Inside, the cabin is very clean and sporty. Not much has changed, since the Camry was refreshed last year. You get power seats, a larger infotainment screen, and a fully digital driver display. There’s wireless charging, a covered storage area, two USB-C ports, and one USB-A. The cupholders are arranged front-to-back due to space constraints. The overall design is sporty, especially with the seat pattern.
EPA estimates are 51 MPG, and the car runs on regular gas. The narrow center console opens up the cockpit and makes it feel spacious. Even larger drivers should feel comfortable. I’m 5'7", and I have good headroom. There’s a sunroof, the latest Toyota multimedia system with voice control (“Hey Toyota”), and a digital driver display. The steering wheel isn’t power-adjustable, but it does tilt and telescope. There’s plenty of charging and storage throughout.
Here’s a quick look at the back seat. There is a small hump in the middle floor area, so a center passenger can fit but may be less comfortable. Growing families often start with a Camry, so keep in mind you get two sets of lower LATCH anchors, top tethers on the back shelf, an armrest with two cupholders, and rear air vents. There’s also one USB-C and one USB port for back-seat passengers.
