Subaru has officially introduced the 2025 Forester Hybrid, adding an electrified option to its best-selling SUV.

The Forester Hybrid retains Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and features a 2.5-liter boxer engine paired with electric motors and a lithium-ion battery, delivering a combined 194 horsepower. Subaru claims the hybrid system improves fuel efficiency by up to 40% compared to the standard gasoline model while maintaining the brand’s focus on capability and all-weather performance.

Mike Schlee was on hand at the Chicago Auto Show for the launch of the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid. Check out the video below:

Like the standard Forester, the hybrid version comes equipped with Subaru’s latest EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which has been refined for quicker response times and expanded functionality. Other standard features include an 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and Subaru’s Selec-Terrain system for managing various driving conditions.

The 2025 Forester Hybrid will be available across North America starting in spring 2025, with pricing for the U.S. starting at $34,995, including destination fees. Canadian pricing for the Forester e-BOXER Hybrid has not yet been announced.
