Singer and Louis Vuitton Reimagine Two 911s For Ultra-Exclusivity
Monterey Car Week is really bringing out the heavy hitters this year, and Singer just threw its hat into the ring for some of the show's best debuts. Teaming up with Louis Vuitton, they reworked two 964 911s to a degree that most would never think possible. The outcome is, as one would expect, remarkable.
Forget "Reimagined by Singer," these two cars are "Singer Porsche 911s Reimagined by Louis Vuitton." The tag-team effort launched the cars at Pebble Beach, a way to "quietly" launch during their Monterey Car Week main attraction.
Car one is a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer Classic Coupe, with a color scheme derived straight from a Louis Vuitton catalog. It's a saffron and blue look, over a carbon-fiber body. It also has a super-retro roof rack primed for a surf board.
Perhaps more importantly, the Classic has a 4.0-liter flat-six engine good for 420 horsepower. Interestingly it has water-cooled heads and air-cooled cylinders. There's a six-speed manual gearbox and carbon-ceramic brakes.
The other concoction is a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer Classic Turbo cabriolet, which is draped in a unique limestone scheme derived from the Parisian landscape. Inside is a Tambour clock which harkens back to Louis Vuitton's own Tambor watch. Singer and Louis Vuitton allegedly spent over a year working on the speedometer, tachometer, and gauges. The owner is also going to get a "made-to-measure suit in parachute silk." Fancy, eh?
Powering the Classic Turbo is a turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six featuring air-to-water intercooling. The transmission is, of course, a six-speed manual. Carbon-ceramic brakes are also part of the package. Selectable drive modes should let the driver tune the driving experience to their liking.
