RIP Mercedes SUV Coupes
Mercedes-Benz might soon be pulling the plug on its coupe SUVs.
According to reports from Germany, the GLC Coupe and GLE Coupe—known for their sloping rooflines and “sportier” SUV silhouettes that look like dogs pooping—are at risk of being axed or possibly merged into a single model as part of the brand’s ongoing cost efficiency efforts.
The next generation of electric Mercedes SUVs, like the upcoming 2026 GLC EV, reportedly won't even offer coupe body styles, signaling a thankful shift away from this toxic trend.
As more standard SUVs adopt sleek, aerodynamic designs, the visual appeal of the coupe SUV seems to finally be falling out of favor, even among those who sincerely lack taste.
We’ve already seen Mercedes consolidate its lineup by merging the C-Class and E-Class coupes into the new CLE model and eliminating the S-Class two-door variants. So it’s no surprise the GLC and GLE Coupes could be next on the chopping block.
For now, both models will stick around for a few more years, but if you’re a fan of the sloped-roof SUV look, this might be the last hurrah.

Anyway I would never buy any of both or any SUV or crossover. Not everybody likes SUV's or crossovers or is willing to buy one no matter what.
