Lucid Shows Off Cheaper Crossover EV

During a showcase for the upcoming Gravity SUV, Lucid Motors also teased a new crossover SUV.

The teaser is scant, featuring nothing but a handful of words and an image of the smaller EV. Lucid calls this a “midsize platform,” and it appears to be plotting multiple smaller vehicles: “Today’s event also offered a glimpse at one of the company’s upcoming midsize vehicles.”

From what can be seen, the crossover features a much sportier look than the Gravity. Its roofline rakes much more at the rear, and its fenders are significantly more pronounced, as is the side profile. It also features a very sculpted hood with Lucid script across the nose. Thus far, it’s really not a bad look.

More concrete details are few and far between. Lucid does say that the crossover will offer “the same range as competitors,” whatever those are, and do it with a smaller battery. Given the proposed sub-$50K price point, we’d imagine more luxe German entry-level crossovers like parts of Audi’s e-tron lineup and Mercedes’ EQ SUVs are in the crosshairs. Lucid says production will kick off in 2026.
