Hyundai Debuts Special TCR Edition Elantra N

The Hyundai Elantra N is getting a special edition.


Dubbed the TCR Edition, the new variant draws inspiration from the touring car racing version of the Elantra N which recently celebrated championship success with the FIA TCR World Tour Driver's Title and IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Manufacturer's Title.


While it adds a touch of track-ready style, it doesn't do much to raise the car's performance envelope.

The most prominent change is the adjustable carbon fiber rear wing, which provides an unspecified amount of downforce for track-day enthusiasts and drive-thru autocrossers.


The TCR Edition sits on lightweight 19-inch forged wheels paired with N Performance four-piston monoblock calipers, promising improved braking performance and reduced unsprung weight. Unfortunately, Hyundai hasn’t provided any of those metrics.

Hyundai confirmed South Korean buyers will be ale to option an oversized “N” logo body graphic, similar to the graphic used on the race cars. It's unclear if cars destined for global markets will gain the same.


Inside, changes are modest but aimed at reinforcing the performance theme. The steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara, complemented by special TCR Edition badging and Hyundai’s signature Performance Blue accents. Seatbelts and a steering wheel marker at 12 o’clock are finished in the same blue, adding a splash of color to the cabin.


Despite its racing-inspired name, the TCR Edition does not see any enhancements to its 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, which produces 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque.
