Honda Unveils Next-Generation 0 Series EVs at CES

Honda has unveiled prototype versions of its new 0 Series Saloon and SUV electric vehicles at CES 2025, previewing production models set to arrive in 2026.
These models, the first in a planned family of seven next-generation electric vehicles, are built on Honda’s all-new EV platform and will launch in North America next year, followed by global markets.
The 0 SUV, described as mid-sized, features a squared-off rear design to enhance interior space and versatility. The 0 SUV is an evolution of the Space Hub Concept Honda brought to CES last year. Honda said a production model based on the 0 SUV prototype will be built at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio for North American and global markets.
The 0 Saloon, also previewed at CES last year, retains its bold concept styling with sculpted bodywork aimed at maximizing efficiency. Both vehicles embody Honda’s "thin, light, and wise" philosophy, prioritizing reduced weight, improved efficiency, and advanced connectivity.
Honda 0 Series SUV and Saloon: All The Details
Honda’s new EV platform integrates ultra-thin battery packs—approximately 8mm thinner than rivals—mounted low in the chassis, promoting sporty handling and spacious interiors. Megacasting technology, used to create large platform sections in single castings, contributes to reduced complexity and a weight advantage of up to 100kg over similar-sized competitors.
0 Series vehicles will offer single- and dual-motor configurations, with entry-level models offering 241 hp from a rear-mounted motor. Top-shelf versions will gain a dual-motor setup delivering up to 482 bhp and all-wheel drive.
The nickel-manganese-cobalt battery packs will range from 80-90 kWh, offering over 300 miles of range—which is pretty much identical to the Sony/Honda-backed Afeela 1—larger models may feature 100 kWh packs for extended driving capabilities, but Honda isn't saying.
Both prototypes use Honda's new in-house-developed Asimo OS, which connects vehicle systems, infotainment, and advanced driver aids. The system will enable over-the-air updates and manage level-three autonomous driving features, allowing hands-free operation in specific scenarios, pending regulatory approval, of course.
Following the 0 SUV, a larger seven-seater model is expected to follow in 2027. Compact cars and SUVs should come online by 2030.
