GMC Axes Canyon AT4X Trim—Sort Of
GMC is paring down its AT4 sub-brand.
The off-road-oriented brand is down one model as GMC folds the Canyon AT4X trim into an options package on the upcoming 2025 Canyon AT4. The AT4 and AT4X were separate trims at one point, with the AEV Edition available as an option on the AT4X.
2025 GMC Canyon AT4 And AT4X: All The Details
The AT4X option includes Multimatic DSSV dampers, front and rear e-locking differentials, ground clearance and approach angle improvements, skid plates, and 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires. The AEV option steps things further with off-road niceties like new bumpers, aesthetic touches, and wheels.
Things are much simpler now. If you’d like a GMC Canyon AT4, that is what you’ll order — it’s still the trim you want for off-roading — but you’ll also have the option of getting more capability from either the AT4X or AT4X AEV packages.
Notably, the AT4X is still expected to receive a different interior from the standard AT4. The Obsidian Rush interior colorwave is shared with the Canyon's larger Sierra AT4X siblings and features red stitching on the upholstery along with red and white dash accents.
Notably, there are no changes to the equipment that each of these re-structured trims or optional extras include. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but we’ll be there when it is.
