Crank up the volume it's not every day Ford's top-shelf Mustang GTD serenades the Green Hell.

When this street-legal derivative of the Mustang GT3 race car was unveiled, Ford made no secret of its grand ambition: to conquer the Nordschleife loop in under seven minutes–something its crosstown rivals from General Motors have yet to accomplish with either the Camaro or the Corvette.

Spy footage captures the Mustang GTD from various vantage points around the notorious 12.9-mile course. The video doesn’t just hint at speed; it screams it. There’s a glorious harmony of supercharger whine and the deep, guttural growl from the 5.2-liter V-8. This is America’s war on Europe, with over 800 horses under the hood and rear-wheel drive managed by an eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle.

With a price tag of $325,000, this isn’t just the priciest Mustang ever—it’s a statement. Should it break the seven-minute barrier, it’ll be the fastest American production car to ever conquer the Nurburgring.
