VIDEO: 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Nürburgring Lap Ride Along
Ride on board with Multimatic Motorsports’ Dirk Müller as he dips below seven minutes on the 12.9-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife in the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD.
The howl of the all-American V8 is absolutely intoxicating, an almost surreal scene on the thin ribbon of vintage European tarmac—echoing the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans when Chevy showed up with a NASCAR-spec Camaro converted to run endurance races.
Check out the video below.
Ford thinks the Mustang GTD has more lap time to gain than the officially certified 6:57.68. Watching the video it certainly seems like Dirk is soft-peddling it through a few select sections, but it's unclear if that's because of some dampness on the curbs—the sky looks a bit overcast—or if he has to wait for the rear end to settle before he can get his foot back into the throttle.
If there's anyone who will know how to maximize Mustang performance it's a Ford factory driver. Do you think the car has nine seconds in it to catch the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, which owns the front-engine lap crown at 6:48.04?
I don't have the answer, but I'm happy to watch more videos if Ford tries again.
