Ford celebrates the Bronco's diamond jubilee with—what else?—a throwback special edition.

If there's a brand that loves a retro special edition, it's Ford. And 60 years ago—on August 11, 1965, to be specific—the Blue Oval brand showed off the Bronco for the first time. Naturally then, FoMoCo has rolled out a celebratory package for the 2026 Bronco with nostalgic nods to that original model.

Available only as a four-door, the Bronco 60th Anniversary takes the Outer Banks model as its basis, complete with the Sasquatch Package. That means the 35-inch all-terrain tires, raised suspension, and locking diffs at both ends for the appropriate stance. From there, the package adds a retro-themed grille with Vermilion red Bronco lettering, along with body-side stripes in the same hue featuring an anniversary logo. Unique 17-inch alloys feature a design inspired by the original, with more red, the Bronco logo, and "1966" to commemorate the first model year. The hardtop roof is painted Wimbledon White, the same color the Bronco debuted in.

Around back, there's a new hard cover for the spare wheel, with yet more red Bronco badging. Buyers have the choice of a Wimbledon White body to match the roof, or go with Ruby Red for more contrast.

Inside, the Bronco gets considerably more fancy than the '66 with two-tone white and black (sorry, Alpine and Ebony) leather seats replete with embossed 60th Anniversary logos. There are flashes of red throughout the cabin, as well as new A-pillar-mounted grab handles; the latter will spread across the '26 Bronco lineup.

Ford will open up order books for the 2026 Bronco 60th Anniversary in October. Pricing, as well as more details on the rest of the lineup for the model year, will come before that.

"Available only as a four-door..." Then it's not a Bronco! When I shared a 4wd Colorado trip in my friend's '69 302 v8 3 speed the thing got 22mpg on tarmac and passed up every CJ struggling to climb something we breezed up. The Ford eventually rusted away.

They stopped making these for 25+ years and would like us to forget it. Give me a break with the 60th anniversary already.
