Dodge Expands 2027 Charger Palette with New ‘Red Oxide’ Paint Option
Dodge is adding a new exterior paint option to the next-generation Charger lineup for the 2027 model year. Dubbed Red Oxide, the dark (very dark) red finish made its public debut at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Michigan last weekend before officially joining the ordering guide.
Expanding the Color Palette
The introduction of Red Oxide follows the recent rollout of Purple Haze, continuing Dodge’s strategy of offering high-impact, factory-direct customization options. While already available on the Durango SUV, this marks the shade's first application to Dodge’s newly redesigned muscle car platform.
According to Dodge CEO Matt McAlear, the deep metallic red paint shifts visually depending on ambient lighting conditions, giving the Charger a distinct profile compared to more conventional metallic reds.
Red Oxide joins an established lineup of factory color options for the Charger, which includes:
- Purple Haze
- Bludicrous
- Green Machine
- Redeye
- Sub-Zero
- White Knuckle
- Diamond Black
Availability and Pricing
Dodge showcased the paint on a Charger Scat Pack during its Woodward Dream Cruise exhibit, alongside other display vehicles including the 600-horsepower Charger Super Bee and the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak in Toxic Orange.
Order books for the Red Oxide finish open next month across the entire 2027 Dodge Charger trim lineup. The option carries a U.S. MSRP of $695.
