2027 Corvette Grand Sport First Look
It’s hard to say what the most important thing about the new 2027 Corvette Grand Sport is, but it most certainly has to do with not just performance, but power.
For starters the Grand Sport gets an all new 6.7-liter V8 engine making 535 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque. That’s more torque than any other naturally aspirated engine on sale today. This is a solid increase from the old Stingray’s 6.2L V8 with 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. However, the Stingray will also get this engine starting in 2027.
The sprint to 60 mph comes in just 2.75 seconds and the quarter mile at just 10.95 seconds at 124 mph.
If all that power isn’t enough, Chevrolet is killing off the Corvette e-Ray hybrid in favor of a hybridzed version of this car called the Grand Sport X. It will make a wild 721-hp (51 hp more than the Z06) and puts added 186-hp and 145 lb-ft of electric torque through the front axle for a unique eAWD system.
Of note, only one transmission is available, an 8-speed dual clutch system.
What’s wild is the car comes stock with all-season tires measuring 275/30/ZR20 front and thick (with 3 Cs) 345/25ZR21 rears.
Not enough for you?
You can add the Z52 Sport Performance package with Magnetic Ride Control, upgraded brakes, a stiffer suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires as well as the Performance Traction Management system that integrates stability control, traction control, and electronic limited-slip differentials to optimize cornering grip, power delivery and (critically) lap times.
Or go wild with the Z52 Track Performance Package that takes all that and adds on carbon ceramic brakes, a carbon aero package, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R summer-only tires and a must-have quad center-exit exhaust.
Launch edition models also get a stunning Santorini blue interior with red stitching. The headrests got custom Grand Sport vehicle outline stamped into the leather, while a similar motif is also on the floor mats. There are also custom elements like the Grand Sport steering wheel badge, while that launch edition gets a custom plaque on the upper section of the center divider.
