Cadillac plans to expand its high-performance V-series lineup with another electric entry. The automaker has confirmed that the 2026 Optiq will receive the V treatment, making it the most compact and affordable model in the performance-oriented V portfolio.

Key Points

  • The brand’s smallest and most affordable EV will receive a high-performance V-Series variant, featuring powertrain and chassis upgrades.
  • Expected to exceed the standard Optiq’s 300 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, with sharper handling and sportier suspension tuning.
  • Likely to be priced around $70,000, slotting below the Lyriq-V, with distinctive V-Series styling including unique trim, wheels, and a carbon fiber rear spoiler.

The Optiq-V will become the fifth model to wear Cadillac’s V badge, joining the CT4-V, CT5-V, Escalade-V, and the recently revealed Lyriq-V. While Cadillac hasn’t shared technical details yet, the V treatment should elevate both performance and chassis dynamics well beyond the standard dual-motor Optiq.

While Cadillac hasn’t released any semblance of specs, the current dual-motor Optiq produces 300 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The Optiq-V will likely push those numbers closer to or beyond 400 horsepower. A faster 0–60 mph time is guaranteed, although range may take a hit as a tradeoff for added performance.

From the teaser images, a V-series badge is visible on both the front and rear of the SUV, while a carbon fiber spoiler beneath the rear glass hints at the model’s sporting intentions. Expect exclusive wheels and darkened trim to join the list of aesthetic upgrades.

Although power figures and performance metrics remain under wraps, Cadillac has emphasized that the Optiq-V is being tuned for precision and responsiveness rather than race track dominance—which makes sense considering the Optiq is an electric compact crossover; no one is confusing it with a Blackwing.

The company says development efforts are focused on steering feedback and a dynamic suspension setup to complement the Optiq’s already nimble platform.

Positioned below the Lyriq in Cadillac’s growing EV lineup, the Optiq currently starts around $55,000. A standard Optiq Sport 2 trim stays below $60,000, while the Lyriq-V commands a starting price near $80,000. The Optiq-V could arrive in the $70,000 range, potentially targeting performance EVs like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.

Cadillac will share more details on June 2 during a scheduled media briefing, ahead of the Optiq-V’s launch for the 2026 model year.
