These Are The Top 5 Best Selling Pickup Trucks In America
For the 48th straight year, the Ford F-Series was the best-selling vehicle lineup in the United States in 2024.
The Chevrolet Silverado series of trucks came in second, as it usually does, but the vehicle that landed in third place is a bit of a surprise. Taking over from Ram was the Toyota RAV4, followed by the Tesla Model Y and Honda CR-V. We list out the top 5 trucks below, along with the total number sold and its spot on the overall sales chart.

While a top-10 finish is seemingly strong, Ram’s yearly total is a far cry from 2023’s tally of 444,926 trucks. In 2024, Ram reported sales of 373,120 trucks. That’s a drop of 72,000 trucks (around 16%) sold over the course of 12 months and certainly represents a massive loss of profit for parent company Stellantis.
While Ford kept the top position due to the fact that all of its trucks wear the same Blue Oval badge, General Motors actually outsold Ford in total truck sales in 2024 just like it did in 2023. Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra sales come out to 883,463 trucks, an increase over last year’s combined total of 839,056.
The Toyota Tacoma was completely redesigned for 2024, and sales understandably got off to a slow start. By the end of the year, Toyota had caught up with demand to deliver nearly 200,000 Tacomas. Though that’s far shy of 2023’s figure of 234,768 units sold, it’s still strong enough to make the Tacoma America’s best-selling midsize truck.
The Toyota Tundra came in 24th spot overall with 159,528 sales, making it the fifth-best-selling full-size truck in America out of six total entries. The Nissan Titan lagged very far behind with less than 15,000 total sales and has been discontinued.
In the smallest truck class, the Ford Maverick’s 157,345 sales put it well ahead of the Hyundai Santa Cruz’s 32,022 sales.

I am completely incapable of comprehending how RAM sells any truck due to their piece of junk quality.
I purchased a mid-sized 2024 Tacoma last year in March & I'am very happy with it so far. I read often about Tacoma owners from pre-2023 stating they think the new Turbo charged 4 cylinder engines are junk compared to their standard 6 cylinder models; however this is basically the same engine that Lexus uses in their RX & NX models. My Tacoma is quick & responsive and I think you'll see sales continue to rise in the future.
