Hyundai has issued a recall for 3,493 versions of the 2015-2016 Elantra and 2016 Elantra GT vehicles. The issue has to do with the driver's air bag inflator that may rupture during deployment, thus not properly inflating the air bag.

To fix the problem, Hyundai dealers will inspect and replace the air bag inflator, as necessary, free of charge. Owners of the affected cars will get letters mailed by July 13, 2026. In the meantime, customers can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460.
