Setting a new standard for advanced notice, Volvo today sent a save the date notification for the brand’s upcoming EX60 all-electric SUV. The date it will be unveiled? January 21, 2026.

Giving four and half month’s notice may seem a bit extreme, but it shows how important this new model will be for the manufacturer. Volvo has an all-electric equivalent for most of the brand’s current SUV lineup. XC90 is countered by EX90, XC40 is mirrored by EX40, etc.

But Volvo’s top selling vehicle on our shores, the XC60, does not have a fully battered powered twin. That will all change in the new year when the EX60 is debuted in Stockholm, Sweden at the aforementioned date. For now, we only have a teaser image that shows a generic Volvo SUV silhouette with Thor’s hammer headlights highlighted.

Volvo states the EX60 will be built at the Torslanda plant in Gothenburg, with production set to begin in the first half of 2026.
