Subaru Teases First Ever Hybrid Wilderness SUV
Subaru is at it again. The brand is cryptically teasing another all-new SUV for the upcoming New York Auto Show next week.
After first previewing an upcoming 420 hp all-electric SUV yesterday, the brand today announced the manufacturer's first ever hybrid-powered Wilderness model. For those not familiar, Wilderness is Subaru's sub-brand of dedicated off-road focused SUVs. Currently, there is a Wilderness edition of the Outback, Crosstrek, and Forester.
AutoGuide's Take
If we use a bit of obvious deduction, we're about to see a hybrid Wilderness version of the either the Forester or Crosstrek. Both of those model lines have hybrid options as well as Wilderness models. Our guess would be that the Forester comes first, as two of its main competitors, the Honda CR-V Trailsport and Toyota RAV4 Woodland, are both off-road focused, hybrid-powered similar sized SUVs.
We won't have to wait long to see if we're right as the New York Auto Show is only a week away.
