Infiniti Teases QX80 R-Spec Super SUV

In a world of scarce details, the upcoming Infiniti QX80 R-Spec is extra light on details.

All the brand mentions is that the vehicle is coming to SEMA and will debut on October 27th:

"The brand’s flagship SUV is redefining luxury performance from the ground up. Let’s just say: the legend lives under the hood."

What exactly this means is anyone's guess. Nissan introduced a NISMO Armada a few months ago, so the best bet would be that the QX80 is getting similar go fast bits and the extra power under the hood. But the NISMO makes 460 hp from the turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, which is only 10 hp more than the current QX80.

Since Infiniti is specifically calling out the engine in the brief teaser as well as mentioning SEMA, this could merely be a concept. If that's the case, maybe this QX80 is packing a Nissan GT-R 3.8-liter turbocharged engine under the hood? We can only hope that's the case...and it goes into production.
