Ares Design has opened a brand new facility, showing off the company’s first six cars at its new home.

This is the Ares Design X-Raid, based on the Mercedes-AMG G63 and it’s Dany Bahar latest creation.

Lotus and former CEO Dany Bahar are no longer preparing to lock horns in London’s High Court.

In what is turning into a very bitter divorce between Lotus and ex-CEO Dany Bahar, the British automaker is firing back with a lawsuit of its own, claiming that Bahar spent company money on his extravagant personal lifestyle.

Far from its conclusion, the saga between Lotus and former CEO Dany Bahar will soldier on now that the ex exec is suing for 6.7 million pounds ($10.6 million).

Clearly,  Lotus wants to rid itself of anything that has to do with former-CEO Dany Bahar. The British automaker is now selling Bahar’s custom 2002 Esprit V8.

Following Lotus CEO Dany Bahar’s termination, the brand is abandoning the plan he championed to bring six new sports cars to market using the company’s engines and transmissions. 

Two years removed from announcing its “ new era“, British automaker Lotus has withdrawn from attending the 2012 Paris Auto Show. Twenty four months ago Lotus was the star of the show, unveiling an entire new future lineup of vehicles.

After  being fired for questionable conduct, ex- Lotus CEO Dany Bahar is suing his former employer for wrongful dismissal. 

Rumors have been quick to swirl around Lotus and its CEO, Dany Bahar, this year including speculation that trouble with the company brewed beneath the surface. Those rumors were repeatedly dismissed, but now the word is out: Bahar has been temporarily suspended.

Throwing a curve ball right down the media’s throat, Lotus issued a press release today that aimed to disarm and diffuse the flurry of speculation and jokes.

It did so by writing in completely unacademic, and some might argue, unprofessional style. Above the text, a borrowed copy of Sniff Petrol’s satirical photo (seen above) that portrays CEO Dany Bahar as “Baghdad Bob,” Iraq’s ex-information minister notorious for insisting things were fine.

Dany Bahar, the current CEO of Lotus is reportedly looking for a buyer to purchase the company from current Malaysian parent Proton.

Rumors of the sale of Lotus by its Malaysian parent company Proton have increased steadily since the appointment of CEO Dany Bahar, who has done little to dissuade the rumors. Rather than a sign of instability, Proton has committed to funding the “new Lotus”, and Bahar’s actions have helped keep the small sports car maker in the headlines.
