Koenigsegg is Coming for the Bugatti Chiron's 0-250-0 Record
Bugatti recently boasted that its 1,500 horsepower Chiron had set the world record for accelerating from 0-400 km/h and then braking back to zero.
Bugatti’s impressive record may now be in danger if a cryptic social media post by Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg is any indication. The company shared a photo on its Facebook page today of an Agera RS with the font ‘0-400-OMG’ imposed below it. Seeing as Bugatti only recently set this record, it’s reasonable to assume that Koenigsegg has got it in their heads to try and beat the French manufacturer’s acceleration/braking record.

The Chiron accelerated from 0-400 and braked back to zero in 41.96 seconds with IndyCar’s Juan Pablo Montoya at the helm. The Agera RS has the hardware to threaten the record, making up to 1,341 horsepower from its 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 and weighing just a hair over 3,000 lbs. It doesn’t have all-wheel drive like the Chiron, but that hasn’t hampered the Agera’s performance too much in the past.
Koenigsegg said more info on its cryptic social media post is coming soon, so stay tuned if you’re curious what the Swedish brand is planning.
