Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Revealed

Lamborghini‘s newest race car has been unleashed.

Revealed with official photos and details the Huracán GT3 weighs in at a scant 2,732 lbs making it 80 lbs less than the Super Trofeo race car that debuted last year. It is also nearly 400 lbs lighter than the 3,135 dry weight of the standard production model and features plenty of aerodynamic improvements that will make it one of the hottest race cars available. For this iteration of the Italian automaker’s GT3 race car, much of the development was done in house with Dallara contributing to the aerodynamics.

Unlike the standard production Huracán, the GT3 race car will be available in rear-wheel drive only but remains powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine but is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. It is a possibility that the FIA will adjust the final weight numbers to ensure the Huracán GT3 is fair with the rest of the competition. As of now, Lamborghini only makes mention of European motorsports, but rumor has it that the car will compete in the United SportsCar Championship.

As for pricing, the Huracán GT3 will start at 369,000 euros ($427,400) before taxes.
