Up until now, it was thought that the successor to the Lamborghini Gallardo would be called the Cabrera, but a new report claims that the car will be called the Huracan.

According to Auto Express, the new Lamborghini will wear the Huracan badge, which can be translated from Spanish to mean Hurricane. The name is also attached to the Mayan god of wind, storm and fire.

The name Huracan was trademarked by Lamborghini in April 2012, but at that time, the car that would wear the Huracan badge was still a mystery. The company also trademarked the name Deimos, which has yet to turn up on a production vehicle.

Under the hood, there is supposed to be a 5.2-liter V10 engine, tuned to make about 600 hp. The Huracan should also feature a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, along with both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.
