Grand Wagoneer - Review, Specs, Pricing, Features, Videos and More
Pros | Hugely spacious, modern-lux interior, smooth ride |
Cons | Needs its own oil field to fuel it, needs its own field to park in, needs serious coin to buy |
Bottom Line | The Grand Wagoneer is big-time American luxury, with a sumptuous cabin and a quiet, insulating ride. It's a more impressive (and expressive) choice than the Escalade, but oh boy is it thirsty. |

2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L Series III 4X4 Review: Still Sparkles
Stellantis’ Wagoneer brand is still in its infancy. Its primary purpose is to go right after the heart of the lucrative, big American SUV market. It’s a two-pronged approach with the Wagoneer battling stalwarts like the Chevrolet Suburban, Ford Expedition, and GMC Yukon.
The more upscale Grand Wagoneer has its crosshairs firmly set on vehicles like the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator, while still looking to offer an alternative to German players like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. These are lofty ambitions for a relatively new brand.

3 Things We Like About the 2023 Grand Wagoneer L and 2 We Don't
The Grand Wagoneer burst onto the scene last year, ready to stake a claim in the jumbo luxury SUV marketplace. This is the segment of traditional, body-on-frame behemoths meant to transport large quantities of people, cargo, and trailers, in complete lavishness. It’s the domain of the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator – two well established players.
Like those American competitors, the Grand Wagoneer is available in two sizes: large and extended length extra large. We recently spent a week with an extra large 2023 Grand Wagoneer L Series III to see if it’s able to compete in this high-priced segment.

2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer First Drive Review: The Six-Figure Jeep Has Landed
Nothing quite prepares me for the sheer size of the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
The Grand Wagoneer might as well be a shipping container, or a mountain. It dwarfs every other car parked nearby.
For its long-overdue riposte to the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade, Jeep has revived an iconic name from its past. The American brand has stuffed this new rig to the rafters with tech, as it enters a much spendier part of the market than it typically plays in. Has Jeep built a vehicle worthy of a six-figure asking price? It’s time to find out.
Jeep Grand Wagoneer vs Cadillac Escalade Comparison
If you want the pinnacle of American luxury, you want a full-size SUV.
In a way, it always made sense: America’s primary contribution to the modern motoring landscape is the truck. Dress it up all fancy-like, and you’ve got the Lincoln Blackwood—er, Navigator, which stormed the scene in 1997. Cadillac quickly followed suit with the Escalade. Since then, both have become staples of the segment, trading on those big, brash looks, tow-anything attitudes, and ample space.
And then there was Jeep. America’s off-roader brand was well placed to bank on the public’s love affair with SUVs this millennium. But outside of an ungainly (and mercifully short-lived) Commander, it didn’t have anything to tackle the burgeoning three-row sector. Jeep’s 2021 solution was two-pronged: the unibody-based Grand Cherokee L to capture crossover shoppers, and larger, more robust Wagoneer sitting on a modified pickup platform. At the top of the pile is the Grand Wagoneer, an ultra-lux land yacht that has obviously studied the playbooks at Lincoln and Cadillac.
