This Is The Most Powerful Rolls-Royce Car Ever Made

Rolls-Royce has been using the Black Badge name since 2016, but this is the first time it’s been applied to an electric car.

The Spectre Black Badge builds on the standard Spectre, adding more power, sharper handling, and even more customization options.

Power jumps to 659 horsepower and 792 lb-ft of torque—an increase of 82 hp and 128 lb-ft over the base car—making this the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever. The power boost shaves three-tenths off the 0-60 mph time, bringing the sprint down to 4.1 seconds—terrifying numbers for a coupe that weighs as much as a half-ton truck.

Unlocking the full potential of the Spectre Black Badge requires pressing the Infinity Mode button, which not only grants access to all 659 horsepowers but also sharpens throttle response and reconfigures the digital instrument cluster for a more aggressive look. There’s also a Spirited Mode, acting as a launch control system, briefly delivering maximum torque for hard acceleration. To keep everything under control, engineers adjusted the dampers to reduce squat under acceleration and dive under braking. The steering weight has been increased, and roll stabilization has been tweaked for flatter cornering.

Of course, efficiency takes a hit. The regular Spectre can travel 277 miles per charge, but the Black Badge drops to 266 miles on 22-inch wheels. Opting for the part-polished or all-black 23-inch wheels lowers that further to 251 miles.

Visually, the Black Badge treatment means more personalization options. A new Vapor Violet paint joins the catalog, which can be paired with an Iced Black hood. Customers can also spec a "waft" coachline along the lower body and choose from five different illuminated grille colors—including Purple, Charles Blue, Chartreuse, Forge Yellow, and Turchese.

Inside, the piano-black dashboard now features 5,500 illuminated stars and a glowing infinity symbol. There’s a carbon fiber and metal combination throughout the interior, and every trim piece is sealed with six layers of lacquer and manually polished. Even the digital gauge cluster can be customized with five color themes.

All of this, naturally, comes at a price. The Spectre Black Badge starts at $490,000, making it $67,250 more expensive than the standard model. As always when it comes to this category, if you're reading, it's probably not for you.
