Nissan has unveiled the Sentra Spec-V concept, a high-performance build arriving 35 years after the original Sentra SE-R debuted in North America.

The concept will take center stage alongside two enthusiast-built Z concepts and the custom open-top Z Kaze at Nissan’s booth (#21521) in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center during the SEMA Show from November 3–6. Nissan noted that additional truck and SUV concepts will be revealed at a later date.

Powertrain and Drivetrain

The Sentra Spec-V concept is powered by a heavily modified MR20DD 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine engineered to produce 300 wheel horsepower.

Internal engine modifications include:

  • Carrillo connecting rods and forged JE pistons
  • 10:1 compression ratio
  • MR16DDT crankshaft support girdle and balance shaft removal
  • WPC-treated and CTP cryogenically treated internal components
  • ARP main and cylinder head studs

Induction and fueling are handled by a Garrett G25-550 turbocharger paired with a Garrett front-mount intercooler and a Turbosmart Vee Port Pro blow-off valve. Fuel delivery utilizes an AEM 400-lph in-tank pump combined with supplemental port injection via a custom Jim Wolf Technologies manifold spacer driving 550cc Bosch EV14 secondary fuel injectors.

Power is sent through a modified RS6F94R six-speed manual transmission sourced from the Nissan Juke NISMO RS, equipped with a helical limited-slip differential. Drivetrain components include a Centerforce lightweight flywheel, an FX350 clutch kit, and a modified Hybrid Racing short-shifter assembly. Lubrication is supplied by Mobil 1 Extended Performance engine oil.

Suspension, Brakes, and Chassis

The chassis is fitted with a custom track-oriented variant of production NISMO Sentra coilovers, featuring front dampers with external fluid reservoirs, revised damping profiles, and aggressive spring rates. NISMO Sentra front and rear anti-roll bars are installed to control body roll.

Braking performance comes directly from an R35 GT-R NISMO conversion:

  • Front: Brembo six-piston calipers paired with 15.35-inch (390mm) two-piece, full-floating, cross-drilled rotors.
  • Rear: Brembo four-piston calipers clamped onto 15.0-inch (380mm) two-piece, full-floating, cross-drilled rotors.

The concept rides on forged NISMO LM-RS1 wheels measuring 19x9.5 inches, mounted with NISMO forged open-ended lug nuts and wrapped in 265/35R19 Yokohama ADVAN NEOVA AD09 extreme-performance tires.

Exterior and Interior Styling

The body is fitted with a BOMEX widebody kit, a custom vented hood with a functional intake inlet, a side-exit exhaust system, and a full Terminax vinyl exterior wrap. Downforce is augmented by a factory carbon rear spoiler borrowed from the R35 GT-R NISMO.

Inside, the cabin features factory Recaro bucket seats from an R35 GT-R NISMO, a custom seatbelt harness bar, a NISMO performance steering wheel, and custom black interior trim accents.
