2027 Nissan Murano Price Bump: Base Trim Disappears
Nissan is quietly repositioning the 2027 Murano upmarket.
By trimming the lineup and eliminating the entry-level SV trim, the Japanese automaker has effectively raised the entry price for its midsize two-row crossover, steering the nameplate deeper into near-luxury territory.
The simplified 2027 lineup now consists of three distinct grades: SL, the new Dark Armor, and Platinum. All models come standard with all-wheel drive and share a uniform $1,545 destination fee.

Goodbye SV Trim, Hello Higher Entry Point
The most significant operational change for 2027 is the deletion of the budget-oriented SV trim. With the SV out of the picture, the SL becomes the new de facto entry-level Murano.
Because the SL sticker sits roughly $2,320 higher than the outgoing base model, shoppers looking to get into a new Murano face a notably higher barrier to entry. The move aligns the two-row crossover with the broader price hikes seen on stablemates like the Pathfinder, shifting the Murano away from value-focused family haulers and directly into competition with higher-spec midsize rivals.

What the Dark Armor Grade Brings
Slotting directly between the SL and top-tier Platinum, the new Dark Armor grade serves as a style-focused mid-tier option. Designed for buyers who prefer a sportier, blacked-out aesthetic over traditional chrome accents, the Dark Armor package adds:
- 21-inch gloss-black aluminum alloy wheels
- Model-specific front and rear bumper treatments
- Sportier side skirts
Inside, the Dark Armor features a Graphite interior, which can be paired with six exterior paint choices: Gun Metallic, Super Black, Scarlet Ember, Everest White, or two-tone arrangements combining a Super Black roof with either Boulder Gray or Everest White.
Single Powertrain Across the Board
Unlike some midsize competitors that offer multiple engine choices or hybrid setups, every 2027 Murano utilizes a single powertrain configuration. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 241 horsepower, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
Without mechanical variations between trims, buyer decisions come down almost entirely to exterior styling, cabin equipment, and overall budget.

My 1998 Chevy K1500 4x4 W/T, which I paid $16,500 for during a 1998 Year-End-Clearance, should be returned from the shop later this week after $5,600 of repair work. Figure I saved myself around $50,000. Guess what GM, Ford, and Stellantis? I can probably keep this up for another 10 or 15 years and still come out ahead by many 10's of thousands of dollars. May Washington's beneficence trickle down to all you manufacturers, because my money will be flowing down to small, independent, repair shops!
I am done buying new cars. 2005-2015 is the sweet spot. Some OEM's a few years later. 2020 max.
