Lexus has updated its flagship full-size SUV lineup for the 2027 model year, introducing subtle visual revisions, added standard technology, and practical interior updates across the LX 600 and hybrid LX 700h variants.

Built on the body-on-frame GA-F platform, the flagship continues to balance on-road refinement with high-capacity off-road hardware.

The 2027 Lexus LX lineup carries a starting price of $109,050 (including destination and delivery handling fees) for the entry LX 600 Premium, reaching $143,350 for the range-topping LX 700h Ultra Luxury. Vehicles are slated to arrive at dealerships in late 2026.

What’s New for 2027

Rather than a full overhaul, Lexus has focused the 2027 update on targeted functional and aesthetic improvements:

  • Grade-Specific Styling: The LX Premium grade gains darker-finish 20-inch wheels. The trim-focused F SPORT Handling grade receives standard red brake calipers at all four corners and adds a new Palomino interior color configuration.
  • Expanded Technology: A digital rearview mirror is now standard on the Premium grade, while a Head-Up Display is now standard across the entire LX range.
  • Cabin Convenience: One-touch auto-arrange power-folding rear seats are now standard on both F SPORT Handling and Overtrail grades, and available as an option on the Premium trim via the Interior Upgrade package.

Mechanical Configurations and Powertrains

The LX retains two distinct powertrain options, both mated to a 10-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission featuring an integrated oil pan guard for off-road protection. Both configurations maintain an 8,000-pound maximum towing capacity.

  • LX 600: Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine producing 409 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.
  • LX 700h: Features a hybrid system adding an electric motor and a nickel-metal hydride battery to the twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6, bringing total system output to 457 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, with an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy of 20 MPG.

The LX 700h system integrates both an alternator and a starter. This redundant layout allows the gas engine to start and run independently via the 12V auxiliary battery should the primary hybrid system fail. To preserve water-fording capabilities up to 27.5 inches, the hybrid battery resides inside a sealed, waterproof tray equipped with an internal water-detection sensor.

Off-Road Hardware and Chassis Setup

All 2027 LX models feature permanent full-time four-wheel drive equipped with a standard Torsen® limited-slip center differential with a 50:50 power split. On the hybrid LX 700h Overtrail, additional electronically controlled front and rear locking differentials come standard.

Underpinning the vehicle is a double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension setup, controlled by standard Active Height Control (AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). Off-road driver assistance includes Multi-Terrain Select (MTS), a Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM) using four cameras to project underfloor views onto the 12.3-inch primary display, Crawl Control with Turn Assist, and Downhill Assist Control.

Interior Layout and Safety Features

The cabin maintains the dual-screen center console setup, pairing a 12.3-inch main infotainment screen with a lower 7-inch display reserved for vehicle dynamics and climate adjustments. Available cabin configurations range from five- and seven-passenger layouts to the executive four-seat Ultra Luxury trim, which features individual rear captain's chairs with specialized urethane padding, ceiling-mounted climate vents, and a dedicated rear control console.

Safety technology is handled by the standard Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite, which incorporates a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Proactive Driving Assist, and Road Sign Assist.
