2027 Kia K5 Drops Base Trim, Increases Prices a Smidge

Kia has set pricing for the 2027 K5, opening the midsize sedan's lineup at $27,690 before a $1,245 destination charge. The reworked range drops the EX trim and consolidates the car into three variants: LXS, GT-Line and GT.

The 2027 model year arrives largely as a carryover. The front-drive LXS opens the range at $27,690. The GT-Line follows at $28,690 in front-wheel-drive form, or $30,290 with all-wheel drive. The performance GT tops the lineup at $33,790. All figures exclude the $1,245 destination fee.

The most notable change for the year is the discontinued EX trim, which trims the lineup to three variants. The GT-Line can now be equipped with a convenience package adding cooled front seats, memory settings for the driver's chair and side mirrors that fold in under power. Kia describes the interior as driver-focused, and the added package addresses comfort and convenience content for the volume trim.

Powertrains carry over. The GT retains its 2.5-liter turbocharged four making 290 horsepower, while the GT-Line offers Kia's available all-wheel-drive system, which the automaker says is designed to improve traction and control across varied conditions. Kia notes that no system can compensate for all driver errors or driving conditions.

Every trim ships with 17 standard driver aids covering crash avoidance and assistance. Kia reminds drivers to stay attentive behind the wheel, since these systems back up rather than replace safe driving and cannot always identify everything in a vehicle's path.

MSRP figures exclude destination, taxes, title, license, options and dealer charges, and actual prices are set by dealers.
