Hyundai has officially announced a pricing realignment and product update for the 2026 IONIQ 5 N.

The brand's acclaimed, track-focused electric SUV will now start at $59,900 for the 2026 model year— a substantial $6,300 price drop compared to the previous year.

The aggressive price adjustment is a strategic move by Hyundai to capture a larger share of the performance EV market by putting its flagship N-tuned model within reach of more driving enthusiasts.

What’s New for the 2026 Model Year

Despite the steep price cut, the 2026 IONIQ 5 N receives several critical hardware and software updates designed to improve charging convenience, versatility, and track play:

  • Native NACS Port: Moving away from the CCS standard, the 2026 model now features a built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, granting direct, adapter-free access to Tesla’s massive Supercharger network.
  • Included Chargers & Adapters: To keep charging flexible, Hyundai is bundling a dual-amperage Level 1/Level 2 combination home charger. The brand also packages physical CCS-to-NACS adapters to support both AC Level 2 and public DC fast-charging stations.
  • Ten-Stage Drift Optimizer: The model's "N Drift Optimizer" system has been heavily upgraded. Instead of the previous single-mode configuration, drivers can now select from ten distinct, incremental drift assistance stages.
  • Cabin & Color Additions: Inside, the vehicle gains a Forward Attention Warning system utilizing an in-cabin camera to monitor driver alertness. The rear passenger windows receive one-touch auto up/down functionality, and a new Performance Blue Pearl paint choice joins the exterior color sheet.

641 Horsepower with an Analog Soul

Underneath the newly standard NACS port, the IONIQ 5 N's high-performance architecture remains completely intact. Built upon Hyundai’s Electrified Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces a base output of 601 horsepower, surging up to 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque when the 10-second "N Grin Boost" mode is engaged.

What continues to set the IONIQ 5 N apart from standard performance EVs is its focus on tactile driver engagement:

  • N e-Shift: This proprietary software system mimics the exact torque curves, power shifts, and physical gear jolts of an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission found in Hyundai's gas-powered N models.
  • N Active Sound+: Working in perfect harmony with the simulated gear ratios, three distinct acoustic soundtracks provide real-time, visceral audible feedback. This gives drivers an intuitive reference point for speed, motor RPM, and cornering entry velocities.

The revised 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N is expected to begin arriving at North American dealerships this summer, carrying a destination and delivery charge of $1,600.
