Can you believe the Hummer H2 debuted 25 years ago?

That fateful Los Angeles Auto Show was already a quarter century ago, and that means the appearances of the iconic SUV (and SUT) in popular shows like Entourage and MTV Cribs were both over two decades back, too.

While the H2 has been out of production for seventeen years, the current Hummer models—branded under the GMC banner these days—are commemorating the H2's silver anniversary in bright yellow style.

There's simply nothing on sale today like the GMC Hummer EV Truck and SUV. Massive, overtly flamboyant, and filled with party tricks galore, the duo are inherently imperfect and yet truly mesmerizing. That makes them the perfect successors to the H2, a vehicle that was nothing if not divisive.

But our memories usually serve us fondly, and General Motors is taking that in stride. Though the H2 was ridiculed endlessly in its heyday, the model is having something of a coolness resurgence—if you can call it that. Regardless, GMC is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the H2 with the Icon 25 models.

Most notable on these 2027 model-year Hummers are the Icon yellow paint color, snagged straight from the H2's in-your-face palette. Inside the trucks is a Jet Black interior, which is drab compared to the red available on non-Icon models, but it at least pays proper homage to the H2's notoriously boring cab.

Each of these Icon 25 models is given a serialized badge on the dashboard, model-specific animations for the drive modes, and black-painted bumper shields. You can only get the Icon 25 package on the 2X and 3X trims.

GMC also made a few changes to the 2027 Hummers that apply to all models, not just the Icon 25s. All Hummer EVs can now use NACS charge ports on the Tesla Supercharger network, and there are new paint colors—Azurite Blue, Dark Ember, Dark Ridge, Deep Void Matte, and Icon.

Production of the 2027 GMC Hummer EV Truck and SUV is set to kick off later this year, so you still have some time to find your favorite sunglasses and rewatch Bad Boys II before the Icon 25 sears your eyeballs.

Is it weird that we're excited to see these on the road?

No one cares about the EV hummer. They will never be the pop culture icon that the H2 was, for better and for worse.
