BMW’s New M760 Will Bring V8 Muscle Back to the 7 Series
BMW is giving its flagship sedan a healthy dose of old-school V8 muscle with the 2027 M760 xDrive. After the refreshed 7 Series lineup debuted without a V8 option, the automaker is bringing back eight-cylinder power in a package that looks ready to blur the line between luxury cruiser and performance machine.
Under the hood of the new M760 sits a version of BMW's ubiquitous S68 twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, in this case producing approximately 570 horsepower. That tops the previous 760i xDrive’s 536 hp and should help propel the full-size sedan from zero to 60 mph in roughly 3.5 seconds. All-wheel-drive is standard, while BMW’s M Performance treatment adds a sportier edge to go with the added speed.
The M760 also gets distinctive styling touches including 22-inch wheels, quad exhaust outlets, and more aggressive exterior details. Inside, M-specific accents bring a performance-inspired atmosphere to a cabin that remains focused on premium comfort and technology.
BMW plans to bring the M760 xDrive to the United States in the first half of 2027, with pricing still unconfirmed. Expect a six-figure starting MSRP, and options may very well put it closer to the $200k mark.
