Insane Aston Martin Hypercar Will Race At Le Mans
Aston Martin will be looking for overall victory at Le Mans next year as the brand announced a pair of Valkyrie AMR-LMH prototypes will contest the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship.
Aston Martin will partner with Heart of Racing which will also see the team campaign a third Valkyrie in the IMSA GTP class. The Valkyrie AMR-LMH will use a modified version of the sensational Cosworth-built 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine originally produced for the Valkyrie road car. In road-going guise, the V12 revs to 11,000 rpm and jams with over 1000 horsepower.
Development of the Valkyrie AMR-LMH is progressing well. Adam Carter, Aston Martin’s head of endurance motorsport, confirmed that the program is on schedule, with the car expected to enter an intense testing period this summer ahead of its planned homologation later in the year.
Aston Martin’s entry into the Hypercar class matches Ferrari's motorsport presence in all aspects of road racing from GT racing with Hypercars and GT cars all the way through the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
