Dodge and Jeep Recalling EVs Over Faulty Screens
Stellantis, or more specifically Dodge and Jeep, are recalling 20,271 versions of the 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger electric vehicles. The problem has to do with the display screens. A software error may cause the instrument panel display to fail, which causes a bunch of non-compliances with federal safety standards since so much of a vehicle's functionality is tied into display screens these days.
To fix the problem, dealers will update the instrument panel software, free of charge. For those owners of affected vehicles, a letter should be mailed by May 21, 2026. In the meantime, customers can contact Stellantis customer service at 1-800-853-1403.

2017-2022 Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles with the 8.4" Uconnect head units suffered from a bond separation between the glass and the touchscreen, causing "ghost touches", where the unit randomly changes channels or makes phone calls from a connected smart phone.
There's no recall on those and the dealer told me I needed a whole new head unit - for $3000.
I did a little pushing back and the service manager told me about the "ghost touch" problem, that it could be fixed just by replacing the touchscreen - for $800.
I bought a new touchscreen on ebay for $122 and replaced it myself in about 20 minutes after watching a couple of YouTube videos.
