Toyo Introduces The All-New Extreme Performance Proxes Sport R Tires
Toyo Tires is expanding its performance lineup with a new entrant aimed squarely at enthusiasts who spend as much time on the track as they do on the road. The Toyo Proxes Sport R is the company’s newest extreme performance summer tire, developed to meet the demands of modern motorsport while maintaining enough versatility for street use.
Designed for applications such as autocross, time attack, and endurance racing, the Proxes Sport R uses an aggressive directional tread pattern, a reinforced internal casing, and a new high-grip compound to maximize dry performance. Toyo says the tire delivers a mix of precise handling, high-speed stability, and consistent grip—all while maintaining predictable wear, an important balance for drivers who regularly push their cars on and off the track.
Meeting a 200 AA A UTQG treadwear rating, the Proxes Sport R is competition-eligible for popular grassroots motorsports categories, including SCCA autocross and NASA Time Trial events. “The Proxes Sport R is our latest extreme performance summer tire, crafted for drivers who demand racetrack performance along with the practicality for street use,” said Cameron Parsons, technical field manager for Toyo’s motorsports division. Parsons noted that the team focused on developing a compound and casing that provide “excellent dry grip and durability” within the 200-treadwear performance class.
The new tire will be available in more than 50 sizes ranging from 13 to 21 inches, covering everything from compact sports cars to modern high-performance coupes. Production begins in the first half of 2026, with additional sizes rolling out through the remainder of the year.
The Proxes Sport R joins Toyo’s established Proxes performance family, which includes all-season and summer ultra-high-performance models, DOT-approved competition tires, slicks, and drag radials. The new tire will make its public debut at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas as part of the Toyo Tires Treadpass exhibit.
For Toyo, the Proxes Sport R marks a return to form—combining motorsport engineering with street practicality at a time when track-day participation continues to grow among performance enthusiasts.
