The Ten 2025-2026 Year Cars With The Biggest Insurance Cost Decreases
It's not often that insurance premiums decrease, but there's good news for some 2025-2026 model-year vehicle owners, as rates have in fact dropped slightly for a small selection of cars and SUVs.
The report comes by way of Compare.com, which aggregates the data for insurance costs attributed to vehicles in the USA, and we're passing along the info that tells us what has managed to cost owners slightly less this year.
You'll note that the top two vehicles on this list are all-electric, and there's a big reason for this. JD Power notes that, thanks to a drop in failures of EV fast chargers, the cars that have often had issues associated with them are thankfully seeing lower rates. The report cites that charger failures (Note: Not to be confused with issues) are down to 12%, which goes hand-in-hand with Compare.com's study revealing that six of the top-ten 2025-2026 model year vehicles with the largest insurance cost decreases are in fact electric or hybrid, or available in an electric or hybrid trim.
Pulling from more than 58 million insurance rates, the study found that the average insurance premium for 2025-2026 model year vehicles is $2,879 per year. Some of the cars and SUVs that follow are on either side of that number, so here's the list of how everything lands on the biggest-decrease list.
