Lincoln Recalls Aviator Over Hungry Windows
Hide your kid’s fingers, hide your dog’s snout, Lincoln is recalling select 2025 Aviator models over rear windows that will not stop closing when encountering resistance. As stated in the NHTSA safety recall notice:
“When closing the windows with the global closing feature, the side rear windows may exert excessive force when encountering an object, before they automatically reverse.”
In simpler terms, if the express-up window feature is used by front seat occupants for the rear windows, the rear windows won’t stop closing, even if it snares a wayward thumb, without giving that digit a serious pinch.
To fix the issue, Lincoln dealers will update the driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM) software, free of charge. Lincoln will be reaching out to affected customers within the next month or so.
