Legendary designer of many a spicy Ford, Jaguar, and Aston Martin, is at it again. Ian Callum, head of Callum Designs, has just released a few teaser images of the company's next project: a reimagined modern take on the iconic Jaguar XJ220. In an Instagram post, the company stated:

"Introducing the latest CALLUM portfolio project: XJ220.

A contemporary interpretation of one of the most iconic supercars ever made. This concept preserves the unmistakable silhouette of the original while redefining every surface, detail and proportion through a modern lens.

The result is a design study that showcases what’s possible with CALLUM."

Powered by a 542 hp turbocharged V6 engine, the original XJ220 was one of the highest performance supercars of its era, and in this humble writer's opinion, one of the best looking cars ever created. The new concept shown in the attached images does indeed retain the original car's silhouette and has unmistakable styling cues, notably the headlights and taillights.

If anyone can do the original XJ220 justice interms of a modern take, I'm quite confident in Callum designs pulling it off. One request - please put a meaty V12 in there.
