48 Vehicles Earn 2024 Top Safety Pick+ Awards

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) completed testing for the 2024 model year.


Of the 21 vehicles it announced results for this month, 19 earned one of two awards. Now that testing is complete, the IIHS says a total of 48 cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans earned its Top Safety Pick+ award and 56 came in one notch below but still good enough to qualify as Top Safety Pick recipients.

The IIHS publishes a list of all the vehicles that have won awards across every model year the agency has been testing vehicles. In order to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award, a vehicle must receive Good ratings in the small overlap front and the updated side tests, plus earn Good or Acceptable ratings in the updated moderate overlap front, headlights and pedestrian crash prevention tests.
