The Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 have the distinct honor of being our previous utility vehicle of the year winners, but as the years go by and the new models are considered old, they lose a bit of their luster.

The number of great compact crossovers keeps increasing, especially as newly updated vehicles like the Subaru Forester and Volkswagen Tiguan arrive boasting more features and space.

When it arrives this fall, the new Subaru Forester will be the best compact crossover on the market you can get. The familiar styling and other low-key specs hide the Foresters true form as one of the best products that Subaru or any of its competitors has put out in quite some time.

With New York out of the way, auto show season is pretty much over until fall, and it went out with a bang this year because there were a ton of important reveals in the Big Apple. Which ones were our favorites and which ones fell flat? 

The 2019 Subaru Forester will debut later this month, and the Japanese automaker has given us a sneak peek at the new crossover ahead of its unveiling.
