A year after Aston Martin announced its AMR sub-brand, spy photographers have caught one of the production models testing at the Nurburgring.

Short for Aston Martin Racing, AMR is a high-performance sub-brand that focuses on adding more track-focused abilities and aesthetics to the British automaker’s lineup. At the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, where Aston Martin introduced AMR, a Rapide AMR Concept was on display and it appears the production model won’t stray very far. Powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine, the Rapide AMR gets a larger diameter quad exhaust setup in the rear, while styling has been made more aggressive thanks to a carbon fiber front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser, deck spoiler, and a redesigned honeycomb grille.

We also see the 21-inch wheels being put to the test on all four corners of this prototype, and a small hint of the signature Stirling Green paint can be seen on the rear diffuser. Unfortunately, the prototype doesn’t look complete, as the larger diameter quad exhaust hasn’t been installed just yet. But it’s likely Aston Martin is putting the Rapide AMR through its paces at the Nurburgring to test other changes to the sports sedan.

The company is touting the Aston Martin Rapide AMR as being the “world’s fastest and most thrilling four-door, capable of 210 mph.” Expect to hear more details about this high-performance sedan in the coming months.
