Maserati MC12 Versione Corse For Sale
Forget about the Aston Martin Vulcan for a minute because there’s an even rarer track-only supercar for sale right now.
The Maserati MC12 Versione Corse is a track-only version of the MC12 that is more closely related to the MC12 GT1 race car than the street-legal MC12 and someone in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. is selling chassis number two with an asking price of $2.9 million. Maserati only built 12 in 2006 before selling them to a handful of wealthy clients. Although the company never reported an official price, reports at the time suggested that the tag was roughly €1,000,000.
For perspective, Aston Martin expects to build and sell 24 copies of the Vulcan. But that’s beside the point. The MC12 Versione Corse chassis shares its DNA with the Ferrari Enzo except it houses the same V12 as you would find in the FXX track-only version of that vehicle. It makes 744 hp.
At 3.8 seconds, it’s quick to 62 MPH (100 KM/H), but far from shocking by modern standards. Still, it’s bound to be a handful because that power routs from the 6.0-liter V12 to the rear wheels with a claimed top speed of 202 MPH.
