Maserati Ghibli to Debut at Shanghai Auto Show

Maserati will bring its Ghibli sedan — smaller than the Quattroporte — to the Shanghai Auto Show in April.

That’s earlier than most might have expected, but Motor Trend reports that the exotic luxury brand will fast track its car for the show. Likely hoping to capitalize on the Chinese market’s appetite for premium vehicles, the car will be sized more closely with a BMW 5 Series, or Mercedes E-Class.

According to the same report, the Ghibli will be more in line with the Audi A7 rather than a traditional sedan. That would make sense given the car’s shape in spy photos captured late last year.

Engines are said to be shared with the Quattroporte, which means a twin-turbo V6 and a twin turbo V8 which would be able to take on performers like the BMW M5 or Mercedes E63 AMG.
