Mike Schlee: Gran Turismo 7

It’s incredible how realistic and lifelike racing games have become. Games like Gran Turismo 7 recreate each vehicle with intricate detail, not just in how it looks but also in how it drives. A must for any car lover with a PlayStation 4 or 5, the immersion in either single-player or online keeps players coming back. The best part, free new content is added almost monthly.

Kyle has a suggestion below if you really want to take this game to the next level.

Kyle Patrick: PlayStation VR2

GT7 players can elevate the experience with PS VR2. I'm suggesting this one for personal reasons: I just got it here in the season of hefty discounts, and it truly transforms the game. Racing titles make so much sense for VR and once dialed in, this feels so natural: looking into corners makes you quicker. Whether you're in a prototype barrelling down the Mulsanne or admiring the canopies of Deep Forest in a droptop, PS VR2 drops players right in the middle of the action.

The bad news? It only works on PS5. The other bad news? Don't be surprised if you start getting the urge for a full racing sim rig...

Michael Accardi: Little Tikes Cozy Coupe

The Cozy Coupe is a timeless kid's car that's helped churn out automotive addicts since 1979—it's definitely part of the reason I ended up here. The iconic plastic car features a bright red body and a yellow roof, making it instantly recognizable.

Kids can drive the Cozy Coupe with their feet, offering physical activity and promoting coordination. The steering wheel, beep-beep horn, and functional driver's door provide a realistic driving experience for toddlers. My daughter isn't even 18 months old and it's already one of her favorite toys at daycare, so now we have to get one for our house.

Best part: Cozy Coupes are durable enough to last well into your child's older years, meaning plenty of fun bombing down neighborhood hills with friends or siblings—ask me how I know.

Greg Migliore: LEGO Speed Champions Ford Mustang Dark Horse

Lego car sets have gotten spectacular in the last decade, and this is a great way to introduce your child to the modern Ford Mustang. Lego lists this one for children 9 years old and up—and adult model builders—so you’ll want to make sure your kiddo is old enough and has the attention span to stick with the project.

The recommended ages are usually more of a guide with Lego sets. I tend to look at the piece count when buying gifts, and this one (344) requires a bit of a build. That said, my 6-year-old easily tackled the Jurassic Park off-roader (211 pieces), so you know your kiddo best. And if they like Mustangs, this is a great way to build on that passion.
